Supervision

Professional supervision provided for all staff upon recruitment by appropriately qualified staff. Cultural supervision provided for all staff by the Kaumatua to ensure culturally safe models and support for any cultural needs, issues or concerns.

Workforce Development

All staff will have access to continuing education to support maintenance of professional registration and enhancement of service delivery/clinical practice and to ensure practice is safe and reflects knowledge of recent developments in service delivery.

Trust Vehicles

To be driven by fully licensed staff only. Parking tickets and Police infringements will be paid by the staff member. If an accident occurs, the staff member must contact the manager immediately. Provide Trust information to the other driver. Do not admit liability. Complete an incident form and a manager to sign off.

Treaty of Waitangi

Rau O Te Huia is contracted by MOH to deliver Housing and Recovery Services (Day Time/Responsive Night Support) for Adult Lived Experience Kaupapa Maori Mental Health and Addictions Services in a Kaupapa/Tikanga maori environment.

Quality Assurance

An Internet Audit Schedule(Compliance Checklist) is conducted by the Manager, Administrator and Staff to identify and gaps in service delivery.

An External Audit (Unannounced/Surveillance) is conducted twice a year by the British Standards Institution/Ministry of Health to ensure delivery of service is safe and effective for whanau. BSI also conducts a full 3 yearly audit with ROTH according to Nga Paerewa Health & Disability Services Standard 2021.

Smoke Free/Drug Free/Alcohol Free Environment

Rau O Te Huia is required to have a Smokefree policy to ensure provision of a smoke free/drug free and alcohol free environment for all staff, whanau, whaiora and visitors. This applies to all facilities and motor vehicles.
